Pitta dosha
If your dominant dosha is Pitta you should use products that calm and soothe your skin. Because Pitta skin is generally slightly oily, prone to sensitivity and redness, look for cooling and anti-inflammatory ingredients. Antioxidants and building up the skin's resilience are important.
Many people suffer from sensitive skin which typically manifests in skin redness and in some cases inflamed papules and pustules, effectively pimples and red marks. If your skin is not in optimal health or you have a condition such as eczema, certain ingredients can penetrate much more easily and often aggravate the skin. People with sensitive skin may suffer redness, stinging, itching and dryness.
The Sensitive Skin Starter Collection is the perfect entry level routine to gain some visible benefits without spending a fortune. If you skin is very sensitive or have pronounced redness, we recommend the Sensitive Skin Advanced Collection. For best results in treating sensitive skin or redness and reduce inflammation and irritation we recommend the Sensitive Skin Ultimate Collection.

View all detailsIf your main dosha is Pitta you are likely to be warm, have clear penetrating thoughts and be passionate.
Pitta consists of the element fire and is characterised by qualities such as slightly oily, hot, light and liquid. These qualities may translate into things like, abundant sweat, prone to diarrhoea, sun sensitivity and anger.
Pitta types generally have a medium build, with good muscle mass. They often have fair skin and blue or grey eyes. Pitta people tend to be highly motivated, intelligent and determined.
When pitta is imbalanced this can affect different parts of the body and mind. Pitta increases by eating inappropriate foods (too much spicy, oily foods), being exposed to hot, wet conditions and excessive sun exposure.
When Pitta is aggravated you may become critical, hot tempered and impatient. Digestion will be increased due to the fire element. As Ayurveda believes all disease is the result of digestion, it is very important to gain control of foods and lifestyle practices which alleviate Pitta.
Pitta dominates during middle age (20-55 years), and is prevalent in disease such as blood disorders, digestive upsets, metabolic disorders, poor vision and skin disorders.
